Troncones is approximately 30 minutes from the Zihuatanejo International Airport. Some of the airlines that offer direct flights to Zihuatanejo are Continental, Alaska, Aeromexico, Mexicana, US Air and Frontier. Car rentals are available from the major companies, and reservations can be made on the internet. If you prefer not to rent a car, there are plenty of taxis available at the airport. Make sure you get the one with the air conditioning.
If time permits, stop in Zihua at the Bodega or Commercial to do some grocery shopping. These stores will have everything you might need. If you don't have time to stop or would rather not be bothered, no worries. Just give us a list of your staples and we will have them waiting for you at the villa for a small fee.
From the airport take highway 200 northwest through Zihua and toward Ixtapa. Continue on Highway 200 toward Ixtapa and veer to the right at the top of the hill toward Lazaro Cardenas, continue to follow the signs to Lazaro Cardenas until you reach a turn off to Troncones, about 30 minutes past Zihuatanejo.
Keep an eye on the right side of the road, you will see a white marker 31km, you will then see a sign Playa Troncones. (If you drive by the Pemex station, you just missed the turn off.) Take the next left at the tourist guard station/bus stop, and follow this road, through the village. When you see the beach in front of you and you are at the "T" in the road, make a left.
Follow this road approximately ½ kilometer (1/4 mile), past several restaurants and villas until you see the sign for Villa Festiva – yes on the beach side.
Open the gate and enter the jewel at the waters edge!
